Seeds of Hope:  Growing Native Futures

In recognition of the enduring strength of Indigenous communities, Native Hope is harnessing the spirit of Giving Tuesday to promote bright futures for Native Americans.

Your generosity today will create the ripple effect needed for lasting change.

About Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday has become an inspirational event, connecting diverse groups of individuals, communities, and organizations worldwide for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving and to bring about real change in our communities.

This unique day of empowerment and unity is the perfect opportunity for us to come together and provide hope for the voices unheard. Together, we can champion the resilience of Native Americans while acknowledging the continued need for change and advocacy.

What We're Doing

November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to learn about and honor the fascinating, complex, and resilient history of Native Americans. By doing so, you're helping sow seeds of understanding and mutual respect. By seeking to understand history from the Native perspective, you’re empowering and supporting Native American communities. Through centuries of discovery, settlement and progression Native Americans suffered a loss of cultural identity that persists today. Through genocide or forced assimilation, Native American voices have been silenced. It is time to elevate and listen to understand those Native voices. It’s time to grow Native futures by acknowledging the past and looking towards a hopeful tomorrow. Thank you.

In the words of Andrea Hearting, Hunkpati Dakota Oyate:

"My Native Hope is to inspire and empower our youth to create new cycles and heal Native communities."

And of Joy Harjo, Muskoke Nation:

"My Native Hope is that more Indigenous writers, artists, and storytellers will come forward to tell the true stories of Indigenous people and our values."

Whether it's sharing a story, sparking a conversation, or offering financial support, every act of kindness contributes to the resilient garden of hope we are nurturing together.

Our projects are born out of conversations. We listen to community members and talk with local leaders and partners to determine how we can help Native American tribes as a friend and ally. Then, we personally travel to the communities and distribute the needed materials.

Will you join us in cultivating these Seeds of Hope? We've set a goal to raise $30,000 from now until Giving Tuesday on November 28. We can't do this important work without YOU!

1. Identify the Need.

Our projects are born out of conversations. We listen to community members and talk with local leaders and partners to discover how we can help Native American tribes as a friend and ally.

2. Collect the Resources.

Once we've identified the needs and rallied the help of partners and supporters, we directly purchase all necessary supplies.
